Firmware lockdown

Fonte: wirelesspt.net

Lista de firmware afectado pelas novas regras implementadas pelo FCC a fim de impedir os proprietários dos routers a utilizar firmware livre e de código aberto.

The following list of hardware is known to be affected by the FCC firmware lockdown to prevent hardware owners to use opensource software and firmware with them.

Tp link

Archer C7 V2 Archer C1900 V1 Touch P5 V1 Archer C2600 V1
Archer C3200 V1 Archer C2 V1 Archer C5 V2 Archer C8 V1 Archer C9 V1
TL-WR841N V11 TL-WDR3500 V1 TL-WR940N V3.0 TL-WR1043ND V3.0 TL-WR710N(USA) TL-WR841N V9.0 TP-Link TD-8980
We can confirm that we are able to flash the locked down firmware version onto a WR710N and then revert to a custom OpenWRT via TFTP recovery mode, but it does require serial access and soldering to the UART pins.
TP-Link sales has informed us that we can still purchase non-firmware locked hardware versions (sold outside the US and in Canada), but the minimum order quantity is 2000 units. This would represent a significant financial investment for anyone and isn’t really an option for us.
